Tiffany Zhao, who swims for Westview High School and Tualatin Hills Swim Club, has elected to swim at Brown University beginning in the 2015-16 season.
“Meeting the Brown coaching staff and swim team this past fall, I immediately felt at home. The environment is one where I know I will be challenged both athletically and academically. Collegiate swimming has always been a dream of mine. At Brown, I can compete with the team as well as attain a high-tier education by crafting my own intellectual journey with the open curriculum.”
Zhao is primarily a breaststroker. At the 2015 Oregon 6A Swimming State Championships, she placed second in the 100 breast (1:04.45) and sixth in the 200 IM (2:09.09). She also led off Westview’s 200 free relay (24.77) and anchored their 400 free relay (53.14). Zhao’s top times include:
Event | SCY | LCM |
50 breast | — | 33.84 |
100 breast | 1:03.67 | 1:13.80 |
200 breast | 2:18.95 | 2:44.94 |
50 free | 24.18 | 27.55 |
100 free | 52.57 | 59.94 |
200 IM | 2:09.07 | 2:29.83 |
Zhao would have been an “A” finalist in both the 100 and 200 breast at 2015 Ivy League Women’s Championships. She is part of a strong recruiting class that also includes Charlotte Rosenberg, Emma Wittmer, Jackie Karpowicz, Jill Glasser, Kendall Crawford, Maddie Salesky, and Tatiana Prendella.
2015-2016? I hope she makes it all the way until graduation!
