Winter Juniors qualifier Morgan Tacik of the YMCA of Northwest North Carolina Riptyde has committed to swim at Tulane University. Tacik attends West Forsyth High School in Clemens, North Carolina, where she placed fifth in the 200 IM (2:04.82) and fourth in the 500 free (4:54.59) at the 2015 NCHSAA 4A State Championships.
Tacik is a Winter Juniors qualifier in the 400 IM and 200 fly, but she also shows strength in freestyle events from the 100 to the 1650. Her best times are:
SCY | LCM | |
100 free | 51.71 | 1:00.98 |
200 free | 1:51.35 | 2:07.23 |
500/400 | 4:54.20 | 4:25.92 |
1650 free | 17:02.15 | |
100 back | 59.79 | 1:07.96 |
100 fly | 56.55 | 1:04.73 |
200 fly | 2:01.81 | 2:19.40 |
200 IM | 2:04.82 | 2:24.67 |
400 IM | 4:22.93 | 4:58.94 |
Tacik would have qualified for “A” finals at AACs in the 500 free and 200 fly, and for “B” finals in the 200 free and 100 fly. She is part of a very strong Tulane recruiting class that also includes previously-committed Gabby Vieira, Jessica Weitz, Jordan Morling, and Olivia Johnson. The Green Wave finished fourth in the 2015 ACC Championships, but with this group of incoming swimmers, Tulane looks to be on the rise in the years to come.

Her 400 IM and 200 IM would have also been “A” final swims.
