Twitter Recap: America Rules Twitterverse on Night 7

The United States has seriously asserted its dominance in the pool during these Olympic Games, and tonight was no different.

Maya Dirado was perhaps the biggest surprise of the night, upsetting Iron Lady Katinka Hosszu and grabbing the 200 back gold for the USA.

Anthony Ervin was certainly not expected to win gold, either– he and Dirado were big wildcards who cashed in big tonight.

Michael Phelps was defeated in the 200 fly not by his rival Chad Le Clos, but by Joseph Schooling of Singapore.
