The Michigan Wolverines started the meet with a win in the 200-yard medley relay,when the A team of Ali Deloof, Emily Kopas, Clara Smiddy and Siobhan Haughey clocked in in 1:39.89, ahead of Indiana A team (1:40.91) and Indiana B team (1:43.22).
Michigan’s Gillian Ryan had a good meet, winning both the distance freestyle events, finishing the 1000-yard free in 9:51.97, way ahead of the field, and the 500-yard free in NCAA ‘B-cut’ time of 4:45.97, just behind her was Kennedy Goss of the Hoosiers, who also finished in NCAA ‘B-cut’ time of 4:46.26.
Ryan’s teammate Deloof was also a double winner and posted NCAA ‘B-cuts’ in both the 50-yard and 100-yard free, in times of 22.86 and 49.38. More NCAA ‘B-cuts’ were posted throughout the meet, two coming from another Wolverine swimmer Smiddy who finished the 100-yard and 200-yard back events in times of 53.60 and 1:55.05 respectively. Haughey was also a double winner of the meet, winning the 200-yard free in 1:46.16, just ahead of Goss (1:47.92) and the 200-yard IM in 2:00.10.
Lilly King of the Hoosiers was also a double winner for the meet, dominating both breaststroke events touching in 1:00.91 in the 100 and 2:11.97 in the 200.
Duke picked up first place points in the diving, when Mackenzie Willborn won the 3m with 292.30 points. On the 1m, it was Lacey Houser of Inidiana who won with 264.55 points.

Like the women, the Michigan men started the meet off with a win in the 200-medley relay. The team of Aaron Whitaker, Chris Klein, Jeremy Raisky and Paul Powers touched the pads in 1:27.89, just ahead of Duke A team, who finished in 1:27.96.
The Hoosiers double winners Tanner Kurz and Blake Pieroni earned valuable points for their teams, but it wasn’t enough to take down the Wolverines. Kurz took victories in both breaststroke events, finishing in NCAA ‘B-cut’ times in the 100 (54.23) and the 200 (1:59.63). Pieroni also swam NCAA ‘B-cut’ times when winning the 200-yard free (1:35.85) and the 100-yard free (44.11).
Dylan Bosch was also a double winner, racking up points for the Wolverines in the fly events. He touched the pads in NCAA ‘B-cuts’ for both the 200-yard fly (1:44.91) and the 100-yard fly (48.04).
Other impressive swims came from Michigan’s PJ Ransford, who won the 1000-yard free in 9:10.25. He went on to place 2nd in the 500-yard free (4:28.52), touching behind teammate Anders Neilsen, who won the event in 4:25.34. Their teammate Evan White won the 200-yard IM in 1:47.99, just ahead of Bosch (1:48.22).
Powers had an impressive 50-yard free, being the only swimmer of the day to break the 20 second barrier, he touched the pads in 19.57, almost half a second ahead of the field. He went to help his team get the victory in the final event, the 400 free relay, with teammates Jason Chen, Pete Brumm and Neilsen, who clocked in in 2:58.60.
I’m going with dominated, Michigan is on another level.
