The race is still on for spots on the 2019-2020 U.S. National Team, and swimmers at the U.S. Nationals are trying to break the American top 6 in their respective events to qualify for the squad. To make the team, swimmers have to be in the top 6 of their individual events with times determined by the FINA world rankings from January 1st, 2019 to August 25th, 2019. Tonight, swimmers at Nationals competed in the men’s and women’s 400 IM and 100 fly.

- Relay leadoffs, time trials, swim-offs and intermediate splits are not eligible
Day 4 Updates:
Of the various shakeups on night 4 of the 2019 U.S. National Championships, perhaps none is more interesting than the tie for 6th in the women’s 400 freestyle between open water specialists Haley Anderson and Ashley Twichell. Anderson won the silver medal in tonight’s ‘A’ final of the women’s 400 free, while Twichell won the ‘B’ final, though both clocked the exact same time: 4:07.77. Ally McHugh, the winner of the 400 free, alongside the Anderson-Twichell tie, bumped Hali Flickinger and Erica Sullivan from the top 6. Sierra Schmidt just missed making it a three-way-tie for 6th with her 4:07.79 to win the bronze medal in the ‘A’ final.
Jake Mitchell and Bobby Finke also join the ranks of the men’s National Teamers in the 400 freestyle with their silver and bronze medal performances tonight.
Kaitlyn Dobler knocks Molly Hannis out of the 6th position in the women’s 100 breaststroke by .02 thanks to her silver-medal effort tonight. On the men’s side, Devon Nowicki pushes Nic Fink out of the top-6 in the men’s 100 breaststroke with his 59.69 tonight.
Amy Bilquist forces out Isabelle Stadden in the women’s 100 backstroke with her 59.64 to win gold this evening, while the men’s side saw Shaine Casas post first a 53.26 in prelims and then a 52.72 in finals, which rocketed him to the 2nd position overall in the men’s 100 backstroke this year for the United States.

I think your time for Justin Ress in the 100 back is wrong. He did a 53.41 in the semis at WUG. It would seem that should count.
Bobby Hurley is here for the swim-off
Claire Tuggle (4.07.85) only needs to find another tenth of a second at World Juniors to teach the Top 6.
I don’t the Regan’s 1ba time is correct since it is from her relay lead off.
If you get a WR during a relay, make sure is only with women (no mixed relays) it’s fine. Same with the official times for USA swimming.
Seems according to the rules you are correct. Not sure which times are FINA times but she also has a 58.45 from Counsilman Classic. Still #1 this year.
You can’t qualify for the national team with relay lead offs or time trials

“Swim-off!!!” – worlds prelims announcer guy
Hahaha that was funny when he wanted a swim off for the 4 x 200 relay
I think we all would’ve loved to see what kind of strategy would be used for a swim off of that relay
