U.S. Swimmers Victorious in 10km Marathon Swimming World Cup Race

Charles “Chip” Peterson (USA) and Christine Jennings (USA) were the winners of the seventh leg of the FINA/HOSA 10km Marathon Swimming World Cup, taking place in Lake St-Jean, Québec, Canada, on July 23.

Chip Peterson completed the race in 1h57m37s, while Jennings took 2h09m15s to achieve her first victory of the season, after having participated in four races. Peterson also won the Setubal race in Portugal in June.

The North-Americans were followed Rhys Mainstone (AUS) second with 1h59m21s and Nicolas Masse-Savard (CAN) third with 1h59m30s in the men’s race and Anna Mankevick (RUS) and Gabrielle Soucisse (CAN) in the women’s event.

20 elite swimmers from 12 nations (14 men and 6 women) took the plunge in the reddish yellow water of LaKe St-Jean.

The last three legs of the FINA/HOSA 10km Marathon Swimming World Cup will include stops in Lake Magentic (CAN), Chun’an (CHN) and Hong Kong (HKG).

Race 6: June 27 in Setubal (Portugal)
Race 7: July 23 in Lac St-Jean (CAN)
Race 8: August 8 in Lac Megantic (CAN)
Race 9: October 11 in Chun’an (CHN)
Race 10: October 17 in Hong Kong (HKG)
