U.S. Women’s Water Polo Announce Roster For National Team Series With Australia

Irvine, CA – April 1 – The USA Water Polo and Australian Women’s Senior National Teams have released their travel rosters ahead of a three-game series starting this Sunday in Santa Barbara. Competition rosters for each of the three matches will be determined prior to the start of each game. The two squads boast a host of talented veterans with Team USA anchored by returning Olympic champs Maggie SteffensAshleigh JohnsonMaddie MusselmanRachel FattalKaleigh Gilchrist and Amanda Longan. Australia’s team features a variety of familiar names from the NCAA ranks including Tilly Kearns (USC), Bronte Halligan (UCLA) and Danijela Jackovich (Stanford) among others. The series will open on April 7 at 2 p.m. at Dos Pueblos High School in Goleta, California. The opener will serve as a homecoming for World Champion Ryann Neushul who played her high school water polo at Dos Pueblos and grew up in the area.

From there, the two will travel to Long Beach City College in Long Beach, for an April 9 meeting at 6 p.m. The two teams will wrap up play on Saturday, April 13, at noon at the William Woollett Aquatics Center in Irvine. Team USA quickly returns to the pool the following week, when they host China in a three-game series starting April 20 in Huntington Beach.
