The University of Connecticut team produced the above video to get pumped up for the 2016 American Athletic Conference Swimming and Diving Championships at the CRWC Natatorium in Houston, Texas earlier this week. The video features upbeat music and underwater racing shots; it also highlights the diving team pulling off some incredible dives.
At AACs this weekend, the UConn teams ended up finishing fourth in the men’s competition and sixth in the women’s in a field that included Tulane, East Carolina, Cincinnati, SMU, and Houston
The Huskies’ top finishers at the AAC championship meet were the runners-up Taryn Urbanus (3 meter dive: 326.20, 1 meter dive: 287.40), Greg Baliko (200 IM: 1:48.64), John Brice (3 meter dive: 354.25), Jaimie Lynn Brookover (100 back: 54.87), Annika Grewal (200 back: 1:57.32), Mark Hunter (200 back: 1:57.92), and Chris Girg (200 fly: 1:47.03).
The UConn women finished off the regular season with a 1-3 dual record. Their biggest win of the season came in the Copa Coqui Invitational in San Juan, Puerto Rico. The UConn men finished off their regular season with a 3-1 dual record. They also scored a big invite win at the Copa Coqui Invite.
