Storrs, CT – The University of Connecticut swim and dive team beat the Southern Connecticut State University swim and dive team with a final score of 160-121.
Of the win, Ella Epes said, “I love the team so much, everyone is so supportive. Seeing how much we’ve all been able to push each other and stay strong and continue to go season-best times throughout the season…I think just having each other’s backs is really what’s pushed us through, and I think we’re going to have a very strong mid-season championship meet.
The win also included a pair of bests; a personal high meet score for diver Darah Ostrom and a pool record in the Women’s 400m Medley Relay. “It feels good to see what we’ve working on this season starting to click and pay off,” said Ostrom.
On today’s performance and upcoming events Coach Chris Maiello said, “Great day today overall. Starting the day with the relay record really lifted the girls up and set the tone for the day. Really pleased with our body of work up to this point and looking to enjoy this victory before turning the page quickly as we have some pretty big meets coming up.”
Up Next – The Huskies travel to Lewisburg, PA to compete in the Bucknell Invitational November 18-20.
