UIndy Men, Colorado Mesa Women Top CSCAA Division II Polls To Open 2024

January 26, 2024 – Lewisburg, PA – The College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) released the January edition of the Division II Top 25 dual meet poll. The Indianapolis men and Colorado Mesa women are the current top dual meet teams in the country to kick off 2024. UIndy was third in last month’s poll, while the Colorado Mesa women were first.

The committee, consisting of Division II coaches, assesses and ranks the nation’s top 25 dual meet teams. Their evaluation takes into account head-to-head dual meet outcomes, performances since the last rankings, season-long performances, dual meet records, roster changes (such as injuries), and data from the SwimCloud Simulator. It’s important to note that the poll’s objective is not to predict the top finishers in a championship meet format.

On the men’s side, Indianapolis (269) moved back into the top spot, edging out longtime rival Drury (268) by one point. The top five teams remain the same, with Tampa (253) coming in at third, and Grand Valley (244) and Colorado Mesa (229) staying at fourth and fifth, respectively. The Men’s poll did not see much movement up or down from last month, but there were three ties with Wingate and Northern Michigan (7), Simon Fraser and Saginaw Valley State (17) as well as Rollins and Mines (22).

On the women’s side, Colorado Mesa holds onto their top spot with 272 points. Like the men’s poll, the women’s poll has the same top 5 as December, with Drury (267) and Nova Southeastern (249) second and third once again, while Indianapolis (236) and Tampa swap fourth and fifth, respectively. West Florida (8) jumps three spots into the top 10, while Delta State (12), Mines (18), and Catawba (22) all made three-spot leaps as well. UMSL (25) is the lone new team from last month’s poll. In all, 28 teams received votes.

You can find a complete list of the rankings at: www.cscaa.org/top25

Each committee includes eleven representatives from across the country. The women and men committee chairs are Chris Villa (IUP) and Brent Noble (Indy).

The remaining polls are scheduled for release on: February 9 and Friday March 1. Dates are subject to adjustment
