UMBC’s Nicusan, Vermont’s House Named America East Swimmers of the Week

BOSTON –  Binghamton, Bryant, New Hampshire, UMBC and Vermont combine for five men’s and women’s wins in the ninth week of #AESD. Each of these programs claim the entirety of the top-10 for men’s and women’s athletes in the conference, with the women’s side spanning to the top-50 before another school is featured.

This upcoming week marks the final meets before the America East Championships on February 22-25.

2023 #AESD Weekly Award Winners – Jan. 24    

Male Swimmer: 
Daniel Nicusan, UMBC 

  • Claimed first in 100 breast (57.90), 200 breast (2:07.86), 200 individual medley (1:54.39) in meet vs. George Mason.
  • Broke the school record he set in the 100 individual medley (50.36) vs. Towson.

Male Diver:
Anders Logas, UMBC

  • Scored a season high 290.85 in first-place 3m finish vs.
  • Towson. Placed first in 3m vs. George Mason with a 284.48 score.

Female Swimmer:
Jackie House, Vermont

  • Earned first in the 100 (53.19) and 500 (5:04.35) free.
  • Secured a win in the 200 free finishing 4 seconds ahead of the competition (1:54:57).

Female Diver
Haylie Calver, Maine 

  • Placed first in the 1m with a score of 246.70.
  • Scored 241.60 to claim first in the 3m.
