UMSL and Saint Louis University Split Dual; USML Celebrates Senior Day

ST. LOUIS – The Saint Louis women’s swimming and diving team won eight of 11 events and defeated Missouri-St. Louis 146-65 Saturday afternoon.

In the men’s meet, UMSL edged SLU 107-104.

Emily Leonard won two individual events and anchored the victorious 400 free relay team to lead the Billikens. Leonard touched first in the 100 free (53.96) and 1000 free (10:32.99) and joined Pola LuckiewiczCarly McKeon and Sophie Kishish to win the 400 free relay (3:35.54).

McKeon won the 200 free (1:56.62), while Bri Hodgkins claimed the 200 fly (2:09.49). Hodgkins was part of the Billikens’ first-place 400 medley relay team (3:58.70) that also included Emily SmithClaire Koh and Natalie Daniel.

Daniel captured the 500 free (5:19.65), and Meggie McPherson won the 200 back (2:08.61).

Jack Locke led the Saint Louis men with victories in the 500 free (4:49.71) and 1000 free (9:54.67). Janssen Gamilla won the 200 fly (1:54.59), while Jeddrick Gamilla won the 200 breast (2:06.22).

SLU concludes the regular season by hosting Maryville Saturday, Jan. 29, at 2 p.m. The Billiken seniors will be honored at the meet.
