ASHEVILLE, N.C. – UNC Asheville’s swim and dive team defeated North Florida 154-108, Saturday in their final dual meet of the season.

The four Bulldog seniors all had phenomenal performances as they were able to compete in their final dual meet back home at the newly updated Justice Center Pool. Each of the seniors, Skylar Rogan (1000 free, Catherine Allen (200 fly), Adee Weller (500 free) and Madison Rogan (400 IM), won an individual event during the meet.

UNC Asheville closes their dual meet season with a 5-4 record and have won their last four dual meets in a row. The four meet winning streak is the longest winning streak in program history.

UNC Asheville claimed the second and third place finishes in the 200 yard medley relay. Nora Segurola LarrinagaChristina MarshallAnna Nabors and Delaney Carlton combined for a time of 1:49.63 which was only .17 seconds off from the first place spot. Christa JonesAmelia HamMadison RoganAdee Weller finished in third place in the event with a time of 1:52.78.

Skylar Rogan earned nine points for the Bulldogs as she finished in first place in the 1000 free with a time of 10:40.17. Aleta Jewell added an additional point to the Bulldogs’ total with a time of 11:22.43.

Adee Weller followed that by claiming the top spot in the 200 free with a time of 1:54.18 while Bela Stuart Vieira finished in third place with a time of 1:59.68.

The first place finishes kept coming for the Bulldogs as Nora Segurola Larrinaga earned the top spot in the 100 back with a time of 59.76. The 100 back came down to the wire as Segurola Larrinaga won the event by only .03 seconds.

Christina Marshall grabbed another nine points for the Bulldogs with the top spot in the 100 breast with a time 1:09.81. Amelia Ham finished fourth in the event with a time of 1:11.07 while Alexis Baker earned the fifth place spot with a time of 1:12.46.

Catherine Allen claimed the top spot in the 200 fly with a time of 2:08.17 while Madison Rogan finished third with a time of 2:10.37. Anna Nabors earned the fourth place spot with a time of 2:13.54.

In the 50 free, Delaney Carlton earned the top spot with a 24.05 while Bela Stuart Vieira finished third with a time of 25.59.

The Bulldogs just missed on the top spot in the 10 free but earned their nine points by claiming the next three spots. Delaney Carlton earned the number two spot with a time of 54.22 while Bela Stuart Vieira finished third with a time of 55.04. Jessie Frank earned the final two points for the Bulldogs in the event with a time of 55.35.

Nora Segurola Larrinaga helped keep the Bulldogs ahead with a first place finish in the 200 back with a time of 2:08.58. Christa Jones and Madi Baron finished fourth and fifth with times of 2:14.55 and 2:18.65. su

Amelia Ham won the 200 breast with a time of 2:29.81 while Lily Sullivan earned two points with a time of 2:35.28.

The Bulldogs grabbed the top two spots in the 500 free with Adee Weller winning the event with a time of 5:09.50. Skylar Rogan wasn’t far behind at all as she finished second with a time of 5:10.89.

Madison Rogan won the 400 IM with a time of 4:40.40 while Ellis Nelson earned a third place finish in the event with a time of 4:50.51.

The final event of the day was the 400 free relay in which the Bulldogs added to their point total by claiming the first and third spots. Delaney CarltonSkylar RoganBela Stuart Vieira and Adee Weller earned the top spot in the event with a time of 3:35.40 while their teammates, Nora Segurola LarrinagaJessie FrankAlexis Baker and Christina Marshall, finished with a time of 3:43.13.

In preparation for the conference championships, the diving squad participated in an exhibition meet on Friday, Jan. 24 at their home facility, the Jewish Community Center. Both junior divers, Liv Pattimore & Megan Almond, dove two rounds of 1m competition to begin fine tuning their lists.

UNC Asheville will next compete in the CCSA Conference Championships, Feb. 19-22, at the Jones Aquatic Center in Knoxville, Tenn.

ASHEVILLE, N.C. – UNF swimming (4-10) had its regular season conclude in the CCSA finale at UNC-Asheville Saturday, with the host Bulldogs (5-4) winning 154-108 January 25.

Photo finishes were the theme, with eight first place times being decided by less than one second. All told the Ospreys posted three first place times, triumphing in the 200 medley relay, 100 free and 100 fly.

North Florida claimed a quick lead by opening with a win in the 200 medley relay, although a flurry of close finishes went to the Bulldogs as they pulled ahead. UNF went on to secure two of the last four events.

-North Florida was second in six of the aforementioned eight events.
-Greenleaf posted her third top finish in the 100 free this season.
-It was Groth’s first time touching first in the 100 fly this year.
