SCHENECTADY, N.Y. – The Union College men’s and women’s swimming & diving teams have named juniors Cameron Robertson, Sarah Dimmitt and Brittany Kenny team captains for the upcoming 2015-16 season, Head Coach Scott Felix announced.
Robertson, a two-time Liberty League All-Academic Team selection, will serve as the lone men’s captain. The third year diver competed in both 1- and 3- meter diving events during the 2014-15 season, racking up multiple top three finishes over the course of the year. The Acton. MA native recorded season-best scores of 279.60 in the 3-meter, 6-dives against RPI and 266.70 in the 1-meter, 6-dives against Middlebury.
Dimmitt, a two-time Liberty League All-Academic Team selection, will share captain duties with Kenny on the women’s side. Dimmitt had a great junior season, setting school records in both the 1-meter, 6-dives and 3-meter, 6-dives event. She posted a score of 266.02 in the 1-meter and a 296.92 mark in the 3-meter. The Hadley, MA native was named as an alternate for the NCAA Championships after placing seventh in the 3-meter, 11-dives event with a score of 440.10.
Kenny, also a two-time Liberty League All-Academic Team selection, will serve as the lone swimmer captain. A highlight of Kenny’s junior campaign came during a dual meet against Hamilton where she shelped Union secure a 150-148 victory. She won the 200 IM which was the last women’s individual event of the meet, earning a much needed nine points for the Dutchwomen. The Aurora, Ontario native also won the 100-yard backstroke and was second 200-yard backstroke as well as swam in the 400-yard freestyle relay team that took third to give Union the two points for the win. Kenny was named to the Liberty League Honor Roll for her performance.
