Honolulu—The University of Hawai’I diving team wrapped up the final day of competition in the Wally Nakamoto Diving Invite Friday afternoon at the Duke Kahanamoku Aquatic Complex.

After battling windy conditions and rain showers over the previous two days, day three provided breaks at times but still presented a challenge with the same elements of mother nature.

In both the men’s and women’s platform dives, the University of Wisconsin took first-place finishes, but UH was able to take away a highlight for the men. Senior Lucas Cooperman placed second with a score of 338.50 qualify him for the NCAA Zone Meet to be eligible for the NCAA Championships in March.

The Rainbow Warriors and the Rainbow Wahine will have one more event before joining forces with the swim team for the MPSF Conference Championships in February. UH will head to the UCLA Bruin Diving Invitational next week with a handful of divers aiming to qualify for the NCAA Zone Meet.
