LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) – The UNLV men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams are back in action this week as they send a selected roster to compete in the Georgia Tech Invitational. This week’s event, which runs from Nov. 19-21 in Atlanta, is being held in the Coach Herb McAuley Aquatic Center, the site of this year’s NCAA Men’s and Women’s Championship Meet.
• Dillon Virva is first in the WAC in the 50 free. UNLV also holds the top time in the 200 free relay.
• UNLV has won ten conference championship meets in the past 11 seasons, including the final seven years of the Mountain West. The Rebels’ streak was narrowly broken in 2012 at the MPSF, but then won the 2013 MPSF title and the 2014 and 2015 WAC championship
• UNLV begins the 2015-16 season with five straight away meets.
WOMEN’S HIGHLIGHTS
• Lina Rathsack is currently in first place in the Mountain West in the 100 Breast and 200 Breast.
• The UNLV women bring back a strong group that is expected to challenge for a finish in the top half of the Mountain West.
• UNLV begins the 2015-16 season with five straight away meets.
