The two American teams competing in this weekend’s International Swimming League opener (the Cali Condors and DC Trident) have revealed their travel rosters.
According to the ISL Technical Handbook, each team is “suggested” to trim their rosters to 14 athletes of each gender for each meet, with 12 being swimmers for individual events, and 2 being relay-only swimmers. Insiders have told us that the “suggested” limit referenced in the handbook is being treated as a hard cap.
The major news is that world champ Caeleb Dressel will not be competing this week in Indianapolis, but will travel to Naples for the second Group A meet from October 12-13.

I just realized that Haas isn’t going to be at Italy. Maybe its too early to talk about it or maybe people lost confidence in him after a rough 2019. I mean, he is one of Cali Condors main distance swimmer for men.
Robert Howard about to go off he was born for the ISL format.
Titmus vs oleeecky rematch in the 400! There’s a 400 free in these meets right?
Wonder if they intentionally made sure both are competing at the same stop to get the rematch and the inevitable headlines?

Dean Boxall said earlier this year that he will allow Titmus to swim in ISL only if he thinks it benefits her preparation for Olympics. And ‘There would also be the matter of how many times they may want to swim against Ledecky ahead of the Tokyo Games’. So the rematch might be one of the major reasons why they choose to participate in the league this year.
Ledecky’s swimming, too.
Any way to watch the ISL in the US? I feel like I haven’t heard if NBC is gonna air it or not
Wow Cali is stacked on the women’s side. Their medley relay looks insane.
Sad Dressel wont be at Indy😭
They’ll be alright. Probably in heavy training now?!
He’ll only swim in a few of the meets (if any), and then not fast, given his training load. He was doing 19’s in the 50 SCY free in-season when he broke 18 at the end.
So much for building a team around Dressel.
Friday night, Caeleb is being honored as 2018 UF Male Athlete of the Year and Gregg Troy is being inducted into the UF Hall of Fame. That’s most likely why they won’t be in Indy.
