INDIANAPOLIS – USA Diving announced Monday the 2019 USA Diving Rising Stars Championships will be added to the 2019 summer rotation, with two meets taking place July 12-14, 2019 in Buffalo, New York and Riverside, California. The meets will serve as an additional opportunity for junior divers who do not qualify to compete at the 2019 USA Diving Junior National Championships and for senior divers vying for summer competition to continue competing and participating in the sport.

Eligible divers who choose to participate in the 2019 USA Diving Rising Stars Championships may compete in the meet of their choice. Competition will be on the 1-meter springboard, 3-meter springboard, as well as platform individual events for age groups 11-and-under, 12-13, 14-15 and16-18. USA Diving will debut new 19+ events for divers.

“The new Rising Stars Championships is an ideal opportunity for divers seeking additional contests at the junior and senior levels,” USA Diving High Performance Director Dan Laak said. “Having an additional meet geared toward these divers will serve as a stepping stone for the next level, as these athletes will continue to develop in the sport with additional training and preparation that will extend through the summer.”

Registration for the Rising Stars Championships will open in summer 2019. Additional event information will be announced in the coming weeks and will be posted on USA Diving’s events page.
