USA Swimming Announces Roster For 2014 National Select Camp

USA Swimming has announced it’s roster for the 2014 National Select Camp which will take place at the US Olympic Training Center from October 23-26 this fall.

The camp  is designed to teach some of the top athletes in the nation about post-race recovery, drug and supplement rules, psychological training and skills, nutrition, race strategy, and more in order to develop their talent.

The event selection criteria involves inviting the top 28 male and female swimmers, following long course junior nationals, based on their rankings on the SWIMS database. The fastest two swimmers in each event will make up the 28 total male swimmers and female swimmers. Following that, four additional men and women will be added to the team based solely on their individual IMX power points. This year, the the 50m freestyle was added to the event list meaning the top two in that event will be invited as well.

The four highest scoring 14-15 year-old females and 15-16 year-old men will also be invited to the camp.

The coach of each athlete will also be invited. The National Select Camp Director will choose the Head Coach and Manager for each camp, and three assistant coaches will be chosen via application process.

As of now the current coaches chosen are:

Paul Yetter Men’s Head Coach T2 Aquatics FL
Preston Parrish Men’s Manager Carmel Swim Club IN
