The USA Swimming club development staff is excited to announce the addition of Jay Chambers as a member of its Sport Performance Consultant team. Chambers will join Scott Colby and Mark Hesse in equipping the 3,000+ club teams with the knowledge to improve athlete performance.

“I am honored and humbled to be coming to USA Swimming,” said Chambers. “I’m excited to support my favorite group of people in the world – swim coaches.”

In his new position, Chambers will serve as an educator to coaches and clubs by providing technical and sport science education in addition to topics such as nutrition and dryland with the goal of enhancing athlete performance.

“Jay will be a great asset to our club development team with his vast knowledge of swimming science and 40+ years of coaching experience,” said USA Swimming Club Development Managing Director, Pat Hogan. “His presence will positively impact USA Swimming teams. We are thrilled to have him as part of our team.”

Prior to USA Swimming, Chambers served as the head coach for the Fisher Area Swimming Tigers just outside Indianapolis, Indiana. Chambers coached several other Indiana native teams over his 41 years of coaching including nationally-renowned Carmel Swim Club where he was honored as Indiana Coach of the Year in 1998 and Washington Township Swim Club. Chambers also previously served as the head coach for Ohio University.
