The 2017 USA Swimming Foundation Make a Splash grant application window is now open and applications will be accepted until Wednesday, February 15, 4pm PST.

The USA Swimming Foundation will provide approximately $340,000 in grants to help Make a Splash Local Partner programs provide services to children in their communities. Individual grant awards will range from $1,000 to $15,000.

To be considered, applicants must be a Make a Splash Local Partner in good standing and provide a project budget and description. The 2017 USA Swimming Foundation Make a Splash Grant Guidelines can be found here and the application can be found here. Funding will be provided to programs directly benefiting children who would not otherwise receive the opportunity to learn to swim.

“Our goal is to teach one million children to swim annually, beginning in 2017, and these grants will help us reach that goal through our Make a Splash network,” says Debbie Hesse, Executive Director of the USA Swimming Foundation. “Swim lessons reduce the risk of drowning by 88 percent and through the teamwork of the USA Swimming Foundation and our Make a Splash Local Partners we’re saving the lives of today’s children and making a difference for the youth of future generations.”

Since 2007, the Foundation has awarded over $4 million dollars to help fund learn-to-swim programs across the country and more than 4 million children have received swim lessons through the Make a Splash Local Partner network.
