Tickets purchased for the original 2020 U.S. Olympic Swimming Trials at the CHI Health Center in Omaha, Nebraska will be dealt with in one of two ways after Friday’s announcement of the rescheduled dates.
The event will now be held in Omaha, Nebraska from June 13th-20th, 2021. That’s a week earlier in the Olympic cycle than the original dates of June 21st-28th, 2020. Read more on the new schedule here.
One of the most frequent questions that was sent our way is what would happen with tickets that were originally purchased for the 2020 event.
2 Options for 2020 Olympic Trials Tickets:
- re-issuance of new tickets in the same seats for the same session(s)
- ticket refunds within six months of the rescheduling announcement via the original point of purchase
To request a refund, log in to your ticket master account, navigate to “my upcoming events,” click the meet, and scroll down to “Request a Refund.”
The few tickets for the original 2020 dates that were available remain up for grabs, while any returned/refunded tickets will be available immediately again after processing. This means that anybody still looking for tickets, or maybe hoping to upgrade their seats, will have to check the Ticketmaster site frequently and hope to catch any released seats before anybody else does.
The CHI Health Center, formerly the CenturyLink Center and Qwest Center, is an 18,000+ seat multi-purpose arena in downtown Omaha, Nebraska. While its primary tenant is the Creighton University men’s basketball team, it hosts many concerts, sporting events, conventions, and the famous annual shareholders’ meeting of Warren Buffet’s Berkshire Hathaway every year.
With the pool deck being built over the first few rows of sweets, the capacity for the Olympic Swimming Trials is reduced to just over 17,000 spectators.
So, if i Purchased Tickets in 2020, can i use those tickets to get into the event, same session?
No. Your tickets were refunded and re-sold.
Our team bought $7000.00 worth of tickets through Seat Geek and now they will not reply back to us. The kids cannot go this year and had to fund raise to to pay for the ones that were purchased. Any ideas??
Seat Geek policy seems to indicate they’ll issue a refund – might just take some time to arrive because it’s just a ‘marketplace’ for tickets to be sold, SeatGeek is not actually selling the tickets themselves.
I don’t have any advice other than continuing to try to contact Seat Geek. Try them on social media.

Ticketmaster has noted the date change, but has no current link to request refunds on our tickets.
Maybe given a little time, it will be set up to do so.
Ticket Master says they have not recipes official word from the promoters that the event has changed so they will not process my refund. What do I do? The new dates will not work for me.
SeatGeek hasn’t refunded my 4 tickets that I purchased for 2020 OT and it’s very disappointing considering they are offered a refund from the venue. My tickets got switched to 6/19/21 10AM great seats but we can’t make it this year. They could probably sell them for more than I paid.

For those who have been before, I’d appreciate feedback on different seating options, assuming some tickets will come available. Is upper deck in middle preferred to lower deck ends? Can you see okay from end of the pool down low or do officials block views? Is upper level really high and far away and hard to see or still good views? Want to go and will take what we can get but obviously want to try for the best possible experience for that kind of spend.
Lower deck ends are pretty good in a way. Far end you catch a lot of the atheletes up close during warmups. Also far end has the award ceremony which is pretty cool, even if you are behind the screen (its transparent and rises up. You get a close look at the winners. Starting end is great because all the swimmers are there before the races. I would do lower level every time (been there 3x)

Upper level is vastly superior to see races unfold. This will be my fourth straight in Omaha. Also was at Long Beach and then the smaller venue (Indy). The perspective from above is unsurpassed by the ground level. You won’t find the real Rowdy Gaines trying to broadcast from poolside.
