USA Water Polo Announces Coaching Staffs For Men’s Pipeline National Teams

USA Men’s Senior National Team Head Coach Dejan Udovicic has announced the coaching staffs for the USA Men’s National Pipeline Teams, including the Junior, Youth, and Cadet levels. Alex Rodriguez has been named Head Coach for the Men’s Junior National Team and will be joined by Brian Flacks as Assistant Coach. Brett Ormsby has been named Head Coach for the Men’s Youth National Team and will be joined by Zac Koerner as Assistant Coach. Bryan Lynton has retained his position as Head Coach for the Men’s Cadet National Team and will be joined by Brian Anderson as Assistant Coach. The hires bring together some of the top young water polo coaches that the United States has to offer with a variety of backgrounds; including experience coaching at the national team, collegiate, scholastic, and club levels.

“We are fortunate to bring together coaches of this caliber to help guide our national teams and build the necessary foundation for our pipeline,” said Udovicic. “I look forward to working with each and every one of these coaches as we embark on a new era for the USA Water Polo Men’s National Team program.”

About The Coaches:

Alex Rodriguez, Head Coach – Men’s Junior National Team: The Head Coach of Pomona-Pitzer Colleges Men’s and Women’s Water Polo, Rodriguez has guided the Sagehens to nine SCIAC titles. He is also the Technical Director of the Foothill Water Polo Club.

Brian Flacks, Assistant Coach – Men’s Junior National Team: Flacks is the Head Coach of Boy’s and Girl’s water polo at Harvard-Westlake and just last month guided his boy’s team to a CIF-Southern Section Division 1 crown. He is also a coach with the LA Premier Water Polo Club.

Brett Ormsby, Head Coach – Men’s Youth National Team: A 2004 Olympian, Ormsby is no stranger to the National Team and served as an Assistant Coach for the Junior National Team in 2013. As Head Coach of Boy’s Water Polo at Cathedral Catholic High School, Ormsby lead his squad to a CIF-San Diego Section Division 3 title last month. He is also the Head Coach and Founder of the Del Mar Water Polo Club.

Zac Koerner, Assistant Coach – Men’s Youth National Team: Koerner retains his position as Assistant Coach of the Men’s Youth National Team while also serving as Assistant Coach for the University of the Pacific Men’s and Women’s Water Polo. This year Koerner helped the Pacific men to their first ever number one ranking and a top seed at the NCAA Men’s Championship.

Bryan Lynton, Head Coach – Men’s Cadet National Team: Lynton retains his post as Head Coach of the Cadet National Team and currently serves as Head Coach for Boy’s and Girl’s Water Polo at Murrieta Valley High School where he has won six combined CIF Championships. He is also the Head Coach of the Elite Water Polo Club and was an ODP 12th grade coach from 2006-2012.

Brian Anderson, Assistant Coach – Men’s Cadet National Team: Anderson is head coach for Boy’s Water Polo at Huntington Beach High School while also serving as a coach and co-founder of Vanguard Water Polo Club, recent winners of the TYR Champions Cup boy’s title. Anderson is also the ODP 12th/11th grade Boy’s Coach for the SoPac Zone.
