USC Kicks Off Class of 2028 with Verbal from Honorable Mention Addison Sauickie

Fitter and Faster Swim Camps is the proud sponsor of SwimSwam’s College Recruiting Channel and all commitment news. For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.

Addison Sauickie from Sarasota, Florida, has made a verbal commitment to the class of 2028 at the University of Southern California.

“I am super excited to announce my verbal commitment to swim and study at the University of Southern California! I want to thank my friends, family, coaches, and teammates for their endless support. FIGHT ON✌️❤️💛!”

A junior at Riverview High School, Sauickie swims year-round with the Sarasota Sharks under head coach Brent Arckey. She is a rangy freestyler, with impressive times stretching from the 100 (giving her high relay value) to the 1650. We named her to the “Honorable Mention” section of our Way Too Early list of top girls recruits from the high school class of 2024.

Sauickie won the 200 free (1:47.78) and placed fifth in the 500 free (4:54.61) as a sophomore at last fall’s FHSAA Class 4A State Swimming and Diving Championships. She earned PBs in the 50 and 100 free leading off Riverview relays. A month later at 2021 Winter Juniors East, she updated her times in the 50/100/200 free and 100 fly while placing 2nd in the 200 free, 5th in the 500 free, and 17th in the 100 free.

She had an 2022 outstanding long course season, which she wrapped up at Cary Futures with gold medals in the 50 free (25.49) and 100 free (55.66) and silvers in the 200 free (1:59.88), 400 free (4:14.23), and 200 back (2:14.68). She also placed sixth in the 100 fly (1:00.86).

Best LCM times:

  • 50 free – 25.49
  • 100 free – 55.66
  • 200 free – 1:59.45
  • 400 free – 4:13.54
  • 800 free – 8:54.00
  • 200 back – 2:14.68
  • 100 back – 1:03.26
  • 100 fly – 1:00.86

Best SCY times:

  • 100 free – 49.78
  • 200 free – 1:46.50
  • 500 free – 4:47.23
  • 1000 free – 10:10.96
  • 1650 free – 16:38.84
  • 100 fly – 55.28

Sauickie is the first public commitment to the USC class of 2028. She will join a training group featuring current freshmen Justina Kozan, Katherine Adams, and Ella Flowers and sophomore Marlene Kahler. Her best times would have made the A final in the 200 free and the B final in the 500 free at 2022 Pac-12 Women’s Championships.
