While the only team trophy awarded at this weekend’s first round of Pac-12 Championships was for women’s swimming & diving, the men’s diving also took place in Federal Way, with points counting toward next weekend’s team championship.
The USC Trojans men, who last year won their first Pac-12 title in 30 years, got a big jump-start from senior diver Collin Pollard, who won the platform event on the final day of competition. Between he and teammate Dashiell Enos, the Trojans took 2 out of 3 diving event titles (the 1-meter went to Stanford’s Bradley Christensen).
Those two teams came out in perfect lock-step headed toward next weekend’s swimming portion with 127 points each. USC will be favorites to repeat, thanks in part to Cal scoring just 8 points, and the decision to send 4 of their best swimmers to the Arena Pro Swim Series meet at Orlando instead.

A bit of trivia. Collin Pollard transferred into USC from Cal a few years ago. He was a finalist in all 3 dives as a Cal freshman. Bio below.
CALIFORNIA: Pollard was one of the conference’s top divers as a 2013 freshman and reached the finals on all three boards at the Pac-12 Championships … He was fifth on platform (309.10), sixth on 1-meter (331.15) and seventh on 3-meter (358.80) … At the 2013 Zone E Championships, he was sixth on platform (618.80), seventh on 1-meter (655.25) and ninth on 3-meter (674.05), just missing a berth into the NCAA Championships.
