LOS ANGELES – USC All-American Nike Agunbiade recorded her second event win of the weekend to wrap up action at the three-day Trojan Diving Invitational at the Uytengsu Aquatics Center.
Agunbiade scored 577.85 total points (280.55 during prelims) to claim the tower event, winning by a margin of more than 98 points. Trojan Grace Lee was third with 462.65 points (240.05 coming from prelims), while Allison Ward was sixth with 432 points (208.90 points from prelims). On the men’s side, Shangfei Wang led Troy, finishing third on 1-meter with 664.75 points. Laurent Gosselin-Paradis was sixth with 603.85 points and Robert Gref was shortly behind in seventh with 565.75 points. Wesley Ahart finished 15th with 484.80 points, while Tatsuya Machida was 17th with 434.45 points.
SATURDAY RECAP:
Trojan fifth year diver Nike Agunbiade and sophomore Laurent Gosselin-Paradis claimed the 3-meter and platform events, respectively, to highlight USC’s efforts during the second day of the Trojan Diving Invitational at the Uytengsu Aquatics Center.
Agunbiade, who was third on 1-meter yesterday, claimed the 3-meter event today with 654.70 points. During prelims, Agunbiade led the way with 328.35 points. A trio of Trojans finished seventh-eighth-ninth, respectively as Farrah Volpintesta (547.85), Grace Lee (543.20) and Allison Ward (528.70) also competed in the finals. Freshman Lily Castanon was 11th with 518.60 total points.
In the men’s platform competition, it was Gosselin-Paradis who ran away with the victory, tallying 819.55 points. His score was more than 55 points ahead of the second place finisher (Bjorn Marketing – Arizona). Trojan sophomore Robert Gref (618.80) finished fifth, followed by Tatsuya Machida in eighth (546.20) and Wesley Ahart in 11th (527.30).
FRIDAY RECAP:
During the first day of competition at the Trojan Diving Invitational, USC’s small but mighty squad prevailed, with all 10 Trojan divers advancing to the finals.
Sophomore Laurent Gosselin-Paradis led Troy on 3-meter, garnering 747.05 points to finish third overall. Shortly behind Paradis was junior Shangfei Wang who tallied 745.00 total points to place fourth. USC’s Robert Gref (586.95), Wesley Ahart (525.00) and Tatsuya Machida (494.25) finished 9th-14th-16th, respectively.
On women’s 1-meter, USC fifth-year Nike Agunbiade finished third, tallying 583.85 total points. Grace Lee was fifth (548.75), followed by Allison Ward (496.65) in ninth, Lily Castanon (479.80) in 13th and Farrah Volpintesta (464.50) in 14th.

LOS ANGELES, Cali- Arizona Diving completed completed their weekend at the Trojan Diving Invitational with 11 top ten finishes.
Junior Brooke Earley finished second in both events she competed in, the 1-Meter (299.40) and 3-Meter (338.40). Sophomore Zara Ayazi also competed in the 1-Meter event and finished 11th (231.50).
On the Men’s side, the Cats had top ten finishes in all three of the weekend’s events, with fifth-year Bjorn Markentin taking second place in each of them.
