USC’s Selin, Utah’s Peterson Earn Pac-12 Men’s Weekly Honors

MEN’S SWIMMER OF THE WEEK: Artem Selin, So., USC (Krasnoyarsk, Germany)

  • Selin picked up two individual wins and two relay wins to open the Trojans’ 2023 season, helping them earn a 148-109 win against UNLV.
  • Recorded a time of 20.05 in the men’s 50-yard free and 44.49 in the men’s 100-yard free.
  • In the 200-yard medley relay, Selin helped his team to a first-place finish of 1:28.87. Going on to assist in another Trojan win, Selin and the 200-yard free relay team finished first with a time of 1:20.59.

MEN’S DIVER OF THE WEEK: Elias Peterson, Fr., Utah (Stockholm, Sweden)

  • Competing in his first collegiate meet against Colorado Mesa, Peterson earned two individual wins in the 1-meter and 3-meter.
  • In the men’s 1-meter, Peterson earned himself 372.60 points, winning by over 70. This feat earned him the highest score by a Ute in the 1m this season, the program’s fourth highest all-time mark and an NCAA qualifying score.
  • Peterson’s performance in the men’s 3-meter led him to another large win of 349.35, with over 50 points between him and the runner up, giving him another NCAA qualifying score.
