Utah Club Coach Jayme Jorgensen Added to USA Swimming’s List of Banned Individuals

Former Syracuse Blue Fins Swim Team (Utah) coach Jayme Jorgensen has been added to USA Swimming’s public list of Individuals Permanently Suspended or Ineligible. Unlike most of the people on this list (now with 120 names), the specific rules cited in Jorgensen’s ban do not imply sexual misconduct.

304.3.15 Any act of fraud, deception or dishonesty in connection with any USA Swimming-related activity.

304.3.19 Any other material and intentional act, conduct or omission not provided for above, which is detrimental to the image or reputation of USA Swimming, a LSC or the sport of swimming.

Cases of permanent banishment for instances of fraud are rather rare, most notably Ken Stopkotte, who received just a two year suspension for falsifying swimmers’ times, though he later committed many other more serious crimes.

10 coaches have section 304.3.15 listed as one of their code of conduct violations to earn their lifetime ban, but in every other case but Jorgensen’s, there were additional violations that implied sexual misconduct, drug abuse, or commission of a felony.

Jorgensen is also an anomaly in that she’s one of the few females on the banned list.

Jorgensen is still listed as the head coach of the Syracuse Blue Fins on their website, and is also listed as an assistant coach of Clearfield High School. Jorgensen is listed as the owner of the club, and a Richard Jorgensen is listed as the Finance/IT Manager. Neither Jayme nor Richard Jorgensen immediately replied for a request for comment as to the reason for the ban.

The most recent post on the team’s Facebook page indicating that the team has known about this outcome and will be folding into another area team. The post, dated May 20th, reads:

Several parents had a conversation with Matt Whitney from CCAT today and he let us know that ANY AND ALL BFIN swimmers are WELCOME to swim on the CCAT team. They are working on negotiating with the RUSH facility to expand the CCAT Team with the RUSH pool included. It is preliminary and a lot has to happen, but don’t fear there is a place for you! If you want to be placed with CCAT, please make an appointment on a Friday after June 5th to tryout for placement on the team.

Syracuse, Utah is a town of 25,000 located about 25 miles north of Salt Lake City.

I’m happy to hear this.
I dealt with her recently as a customer to my establishment and she acts like a snooty self entitled b*tch.
