The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) Swimming and Diving program has announced its complete schedule for the 2024-25 season, featuring two dual home meets at the City of Pharr Natatorium.
UTRGV opens the season at home against Incarnate Word on Oct. 12 and will host their second meet of the season on Jan. 24-25 against North Texas at the City of Pharr Natatorium.
“We will host our first meet,” swimming & diving head coach Betsy Graham said. “I’m excited to get us off the ground and running. It’s a great kickoff to the season.”
UTRGV will also host an open Orange and Gray intrasquad meet from Sept. 27-28 prior to the beginning of the regular season.
The Vaqueros will hit the road as they face Rice and St. Thomas in Houston from Oct. 25-26.
UTRGV will take on Western Athletic Conference (WAC) opponents New Mexico State and Northern Arizona in Las Cruces, N.M from Nov. 8-9.
The swimmers will then make their first trip to Idaho as they compete at the Idaho Invite, hosted by WAC foe Idaho. Meanwhile, the divers travel to San Antonio to compete at the Tiger Invite, hosted by Trinity, from Nov. 22-24.
The Vaqueros will then travel to Colorado Springs as they take part in the Air Force Invite hosted by Air Force, a WAC opponent, on Jan. 11.
UTRGV will wrap up the regular season with a dual meet against Idaho State on Feb. 8 in Pocatello, Idaho.
The Vaqueros will then travel to Houston for the WAC Swimming & Diving Championships from Feb. 26 to March 1.
“We’re excited to go to New Mexico State and see them and Northern Arizona, both are WAC opponents,” Graham said. “We will go to a meet in Boise that will feature some of the WAC schools as well. That will be a midseason meet and will be great for us to get a little rest and see how fast we can go.”

Unless it’s a club team, Idaho State doesn’t have varsity swimming. The only D1 program in Idaho is the University of Idaho and that’s nowhere near Pocatello.
