Van Halen Swimming Psych Up Video For ’80s & 90s Swimmers – Dreams of Glory

Ok…this is a little cheesy, a littled dated, but the last “psych up” video seemed to please the SwimSwam audience.

Wow. That makes me want to find the ole mesh bag buried somewhere in my parent’s attic and start swimming. Great Great Champions that brought us to where we are today!!!!!

Damn, check out all the paper suits and single-strap goggles! Not to mention, racing in just one latex cap with the goggles on the outside. BTW, was that Jon Olsen in the U.S. flag do-rag?

I believe that is Mr. Gold Medal Mel himself at around 3:28 – 3:30. The synchronization of the lyrics with the video is just perfect. “Only missed by a fraction…” Excellent editing. We used to watch this before high school state meet. So awesome.

Yes!! The legendary video returns for the ultimate pump. The vid makes me want to shred a 200 LC iM with no warm up after not having swam in 15 years!

I’m from Brazil and as an age grouper, watching this video was the first thing to do before any meet.
