CATS SWEEP RELAY MEET
UVM swept all 10 relay events against in-state opponents St. Michael’s and Norwich last Sunday afternoon as all three NCAA divisions of Vermont swimming were represented in a non-scoring meet at Forbush. Sarah Mantz, Courtney Gray, Abby Holmquist, and Dani Rocheleau were all members of three different winning relay teams on the day.

SCOUTING BINGHAMTON
The Bearcats compete in their first regular season meet on Saturday and are coming off a 2-8 season. Binghamton placed fifth overall at the 2016 America East Championships with a total of 329.5 points. Third-year BU head coach Brad Smith was a four-year letterwinner for the Catamounts and graduated in 2007. The following two years, he was the Director of Operations at Vermont and was also the men’s club team coach. Smith has added five newcomers to the women’s program for the 2016-17 campaign. He coached the men’s team to a 3-5 record last year and a fourth-place finish at the ECAC Championships.

SUSTAINED SUCCESS
For the fourth straight year, UVM finished third overall at the 2016 America East Championships in February at Worcester Polytechnic Institute. Vermont posted All-Conference performances in eight different events and was honored with the Coaching Staff of the Year Award. The Catamounts closed the season with a 6-3 record, finishing at .500 or better for a program-best 12th consecutive season. Over the last four years, UVM has posted a record of 13-5 at Forbush and has dropped just one home meet in three of those four seasons.

WHO’S NEXT
Vermont competes at home once again in America East action next weekend when New Hampshire travels to Forbush for an 11 a.m. meet on Saturday, Oct. 15. Live video will be available for free in HD via CatamounTV.com.
