BOSTON – University of Vermont senior co-captain Emily Murphy was announced as America East Female Diver of the Week by the conference office Wednesday afternoon.

Last weekend on Senior Day presented by the UVM Alumni Association Murphy won the three-meter diving against Maine for the Catamounts with 246.97 points. She also placed second overall in the one-meter. This season she has won four of the six diving competitions Vermont has participated in.

In her career, Murphy has received the conference’s weekly award eight times. Last season she won it four times, she claimed the honor twice as a first year and once as a sophomore.

Murphy and the Catamounts return to action this Saturday, March 20 at Forbush Natatorium as they host the University of Rhode Island. Action will begin at 10 a.m. with one-meter diving. At noon, the meet will resume with all of the swimming action and the three-meter. Both sections of the meet will be available live, for free on AmericaEast.TV.
