Versatile Julie Kolar Verbally Commits to Illinois State Redbirds

Lincolnwood, Illinois-native Julie Kolar has elected to remain in-state and swim for the coach Scott Cameron and Illinois State University Redbirds in 2018-19. Kolar is a senior at Loyola Academy in Wilmette, but does not swim on her high school team. She currently swims under West Swim Club head coach Adam Cremieux and his staff.

Kolar is a versatile swimmer who does well in a variety of events. She has tended to be most successful in back and free, and competed in the 50/100 free and 100 back at Minneapolis Sectionals this summer, and in the 100 back at NCSA Spring Championship last March.

Kolar’s top SCY times would have added to the Redbirds’ point tally at 2017 Missouri Valley Conference Championships. She would have scored in the B finals of the 100 back and 200 IM, and the C finals of the 100 free, 200 free, and 200 back.
