Victor’s Andrew Kelemen Heading to Colgate University for 2017-18

Penfield, New York-native Andrew Kelemen plans to swim for Colgate University. He was offered admission during the Early Decision period and will begin in the fall of 2017. Keleman swims for Fairport High School, where he was a finalist in the 500 free at the 2017 New York Boys Federation Championships in February.

Keleman swims year-round with Victor Swim Club. Michael Murray, the Head Coach, told SwimSwam, “Kelemen will add some depth in the middle-distance freestyle and backstroke/IM events for Colgate. He is a Speedo Sectional finalist and swam on multiple relays to help guide Victor Swim Club to a third-place finish at Futures East this past August.”

Kelemen is a tri-captain for Victor Swim Club‘s Senior Group and a member of his Fairport High’s National Honor Society. His best SCY times are:

  • 1650 free – 16:18.03
  • 1000 free – 9:44.05
  • 500 free – 4:41.99
  • 200 free – 1:45.02
  • 200 IM – 1:57.39
  • 400 IM – 4:11.39
