Video Interview: Elizabeth Beisel Balances A Hard Day 3 Triple

Elizabeth Beisel is excited to keep training hard in preparation for Nationals this summer. The Mesa grand prix has served as a great training meet for mid-April and she says she is very pleased with her “training session.” Seeing where she stands in relation to her other competitors will serve as a great motivator as she trains during the rest of the summer.

Beisel swam in the A-final of the 200 butterfly, 200 IM, and 800 freestyle. She finished 7th in the 200 fly, 5th in the 200 IM, and 8th in the 1500 freestyle.

To put it in perspective, she won the US Championships in the 200 back at age 11!!!!! You don’t see that happen anymore.

I didn’t know which US championships you talked about so I made some little researches and I found that Elizabeth won the NCSA junior long course nationals in August 2004 when she was 11.
That’s probably the meet you talked about.
And yes, it’s not common!

Happy to see her still alive after that crazy triple!

Hard to think Elizabeth is only 21!
I watch her for an eternity! 🙂
She made the Pan Pacs team in 2006 as a 13-year-old.
