John…training for the Olympic Games can be expensive. If Schmitt needed the financial support, she could’ve easily take taken the USAs Athlete Partnership Program support–which would kill her ncaa eligibility. I don’t think she has, however.
If you look at her twitter account, she always talks about coming back. she is a complete team player, and i just cannot see her passing up her eligibility, especially now that romano broke the record, because i garuntee she wants it. Both of them have now been 1:41s (schmitt early last december), can anyone say 800 free relay NCAA record?
I don’t know, Kirt… Let’s ask THE MACHINE… Braden, is she? She has another year at UGA. I don’t remember hearing about her opting into the athlete partnership agreement with USAs.
Is Schmitt coming back for Georgia next year? If not, Cal has to be a big favorite. If so, it will be a battle.
