The Cincinnati Marlins’ boys 13-14 200 and 400 medley relays have been busy breaking national records this weekend at 2015 Ohio Long Course Junior Olympics, as we reported here. Jim Foster, father of Carson and Jake, who swam the back and breast legs on both relays, sent us a video of the boys’ record-breaking 400 medley relay (he had previously shared a video of the 200 medley relay, which you can watch here).
On Saturday night, the team of Carson Foster (13), Jake Foster (14), Matthew Sims (14), and Jacob McDonald (13) lowered a National Age Group record, that had been set by the Cincinnati Marlins last summer, by 1.27 seconds. The quartet clocked a combined 4:03.15 with the following splits:
- C. Foster – 1:01.08
- J. Foster – 1:05.33
- Sims – 1:00.07
- McDonald – 56.67

Great swim, but it was beaten the next day by Dynamo.
Great swim, but not fast enough! The record was broke the next day by Dynamo.
If I remember well, Carson broke the 100 fly 10 and under NAG record of MP a few years ago.
Jake is one the fastest US 14-year-old breaststrokers. Already 1.05/2.20 this year.
Fast family.
And Jacob’s brother, Joshua, swam 1.52 in the 200 free in April at 15.
Fast family too.
Bobo, Jacob’s brother, Adam, also broke the 9-10 50/100 Yard Breat NAG records, and this week posted a 1:13.55 in the 100 meter breast, fastest time for an 11 year-old this year by 5 seconds. So yes, quite a fast family!
