Sarah Sjostrom became the first Swedish woman in history to ever break one-minute in the 100m backstroke today with a 59.98 at the 2015 Eidhoven Swim Cup.
The time stands as a Swedish national record. This week in Eidhoven Sjostrom has been swimming very fast.
Prior to swimming her 100m backstroke this morning she swam the second fastest-ever 50m fly with a time of 24.69. The time stands as the fastest-ever 50m fly done in an indoor pool. Last year there was some controversy over her 50m fly world record time of 24.43 that it might have been aided by wind.
Currently her 24.69 is the fastest 50m fly this year, bettering her previous world leading time of 25.41.
