Watch above the final, as a Pacific-Northwesterner, born-and-bred, somehow claimed the title of Fastest Man in Texas, before meet host Josh Davis was able to get him dressed up in a cowboy hat to accept his $10,001 prize check.
The video was, appropriately enough, shared by TCU alum Granger Talley, one of the biggest swim FANS in the state of Texas.
For those awaiting contest results, here’s the top four. We’ll do the math on Sunday. Josh Davis was a 21.02 in the B-Final. He was a 20.99 in an earlier round, but
1. Nathan Adrian – 18.79
2. Josh Schneider – 19.12
3. Jimmy Feigen (an actual Texan) – 19.53
4. Karl Krug – 19.67
5. Mark Weber – 19.69
6. Dax Hill – 19.78
7. Mindaugas Sadauskas – 19.98
8. Cory Bolleter – 20.16
Other notables – Ian Crocker still has it, and was a 20.34 to win the consolation heat. A&M assistant Jason Bergstrom took 2nd in that B-Final in 20.40, and 14-year old Michael Andrew took 3rd in 20.42 – his 20.35 in an earlier round was a lifetime best for him.
Niemannator has been impressive in his predictions!
