Day 1 of the 2016 NCAA Championships has already produced some electric performances, with the three fastest 800-yard free relays in swimming history, plus the fastest 200 freestyle on a relay start in swimming history, both came down in the newly-created first day of the four-day meet format.
There were 585 entries for this year’s men’s NCAA Pick ‘Em contest – and day 1 already provided the first upset. Over half (50.6%) of our readers actually picked NC State, the top seed coming in, to win that relay. The Wolfpack instead finished 2nd. Only 38.6% of our readers had the Longhorns to win.
Florida in 3rd was the best result for SwimSwam readers on the day – 48.9% had the 2nd-seeded Gators correctly as their pick for 3rd-place.
