Virginia Adds 2nd Diver to Class of 2023 with Verbal from Charlotte Bowen

The University of Virginia women’s swimming and diving team is amassing quite a class for the fall of 2019. The latest verbal commitment comes from California diver Charlotte Bowen, and adds to a stellar list of athletes that includes fellow diver Jennifer Bell and swimmers Caroline Kulp, Ella Collins, Ella Nelson, Emma Wheal, Kate Douglass, Katie Cronin, Lexi Cuomo, and Maddie Donohoe.

“I’m so excited to represent the University of Virginia women’s swimming and diving team for the class of 2023! UVA is the perfect balance of outstanding academics and elite athletics! I can’t wait to be a part of it! Go hoos?⚔?”

Bowen is a junior at Dana Hills High School. This week she competed in her third CIF-Southern Section Division I Championships and placed fourth with 522.10 points. She was also fourth as a sophomore and finished sixth as a freshman. A two-times NISCA/Speedo High School All-American, Bowen competed at the California State Meet in 2016 and 2017, coming in 12th and 6th, respectively.

Bowen dives with the club team Crown Valley Divers out of Dana Point, under coaches Curt Wilson and Dave Mickle. Some of her accomplishments include:

  • 2018 Junior World Trials qualifier
  • 2017 USA Senior Nationals qualifier
  • 2017 USA Winter Nationals qualifier
  • 6x USA diving National Championship qualifier
