LEXINGTON, Va. – The VMI men’s and women’s swimming and diving schedule was released Friday, with a number of home events on the slate. This is the first campaign for the program in the new Aquatics Center and Goodall Pool, which was dedicated this January.
The Keydets open the season on Saturday, Oct. 28 at home against Davidson College and follow up the next weekend at Mount St. Mary’s College. VMI hosts two other meets in the fall semester, including on Saturday, Nov. 11 with UNC Asheville, NJIT, UMBC and Howard. Following three meets in January, the Keydets will host the America East Championships Feb. 13-17.
“We are thrilled to have a very home-meet-heavy schedule this year,” said head coach Scott Thacker. “I’m really excited for our cadets and the teams we are hosting to be able to compete in our incredible facility. Our schedule is a mixture of in conference and out-of-conference competition and we are looking forward to opening up our season against Davison on Oct. 28.
“Looking into the spring we have the tremendous opportunity to host the America East conference championship, which will be a great event for VMI and the greater Lexington community.”
