Volunteers Set To Host Tennessee Invitational

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee swimming and diving team is back in action this weekend with the three-day Tennessee Invitational at the Allan Jones Aquatic Center.

The championship-style meet runs Thursday through Saturday with prelims beginning at 10 a.m. and finals at 6 p.m. Diving prelims begin at 1 p.m. on Thursday and Friday with the 1-meter finals immediately following the conclusion of prelims. The 3-meter diving finals will be contested during the swimming breaks Thursday and Friday evening. Platform diving finals will be Saturday at 1:30 p.m.

Admission is free to all sessions but Tennessee’s clear bag policy will be in effect. Live results will be available through the Meet Mobile app and on DiveMeets.com. A full schedule can be found below.

PARTICIPATING TEAMS
Three of the nation’s top 20 teams make their way to Knoxville for the Tennessee Invite this weekend in Indiana, Virginia and Georgia. Carson-Newman (swimming only) will compete as well with UNC-Asheville only sending their diving squad. Indiana and Virginia will not have divers competing this weekend.

LAST TIME
The Vols and Lady Vols dominated the competition their last time out as the men’s squad defeated Purdue and Georgia Tech in back-to-back meets and the women cruised to victory over Purdue and Vanderbilt. Both squads enter the weekend undefeated in dual meets at 6-0, with two remaining duals on the schedule. The 6-0 mark includes a win over Virginia’s men and women earlier this season.
