WATCH: 2015 Women’s NCAA Swimming & Diving full day 2, 3 finals including Franklin, Worrell, Manuel records

We’re in the full swing of long course season now, but the NCAA is giving us a trip down memory lane, posting full length video of Friday and Saturday’s finals sessions from the 2015 NCAA Women’s Swimming & Diving Championships.

Some fans will be disappointed to find that Rowdy Gaines’ commentary has been dubbed into a foreign language, but the races videos are still excellent quality.

In terms of entertainment value, the meet was high-quality. In the video, posted above courtesy of the NCAA Channel on YouTube, you can watch all the action leading up to California’s national title, a title that came in Missy Franklin‘s final collegiate season.

Franklin provided perhaps the meet’s biggest fireworks, breaking the American record in the 200 free with the first 1:39 in women’s swimming history. Franklin’s 1:39.10 crushed the field, and will stand up as one of the finest short course swims in history.

Franklin completed a three-event sweep, taking the 200 IM and 200 backstroke to ultimately earn NCAA Swimmer of the Year honors.

Also coming up huge was Louisville’s Kelsi Worrell, who broke Natalie Coughlin‘s American record in the 100 fly with a barrier-busting 49.81. Worrell would go on to win the 200 fly on day 2.

In addition, Simone Manuel broke the American record in the 100 free, going 46.09 for the win on day 3 after taking second behind Franklin in the 200 a day earlier.

Other national records included Stanford’s 400 medley relay and 800 free relay (American, NCAA and US Open records in both) and Leah Smith‘s 500 free (NCAA record).

I know a few words in Russian, and they stand out when you don’t understand 99% of what’s being said. “Very good” in Russian sounds like: O-shin hor-a-shO. “Excellent” in Russian sounds like: mal-i-dEot. Listen for them! LOL! 🙂

The one thing I could understand was during Missy’s 200 Free, I heard something like “Holy God” when she touched the wall. 🙂

Can’t believe you didn’t give your sources! 😯
I made more than a hundred hours of researches on youtube since the NCAA championships to finally find a video of Missy, Simone and others’ performances! 😆

Having said that, are you sure that’s a good idea to make a headline with that? Perhaps the 2 videos I posted on the Charlotte Grand Prix article were enough. More discreet. 🙂
I’m scared that the ESPN police discovers them and delete them from youtube. 🙄
