The team from Minnesota has already made their mark on the 2017 Women’s Big Ten Championships, setting a new Big Ten conference 200 medley relay record in the very first race of the weekend. After night one’s two events, the team leads the conference with 118 points to 2nd-place Michigan’s 116, but there is a lot more swimming to come over the course of the week.
Before the beginning of the meet, however, members of the Minnesota team, including head coach Kelly Kremer, senior Kierra Smith, senior Breanne Siwicki, junior Danielle Nack, senior Lexi Tenenbaum, senior diver Yu Zhou, and freshman Lindsey Horejsi came together to give a team preview of the Gopher’s upcoming meet.
Kremer talks about the team’s process coming into Big Tens and outlines his excitement for newcomers Chantal Nack, Tevyn Waddell, Horejsi, and Erin Emery.
“We just couldn’t be more excited to put an exclamation point on things coming up into February and March,” says Kremer.
