LSU 5th year transfer Maggie MacNeil swam three of the best times in history on Wednesday evening, kicking off the Art Adamson Invitational in style on the Texas A&M University campus.
She split 20.59 on a 200 free relay split, tied the SEC Record with a 21.03 victory in the 50 free, and swam the fastest-ever 400 medley relay split in the 100 fly with a 49.10.
Other high-points of the session included an 18.94 in the 50 free and an 18.38 rolling start in the 200 free relay by her LSU teammate Brooks Curry, a 1:41.83 in the 200 IM from Texas A&M freshman Baylor Nelson, and a new Alabama School Record from transfer Victor Johansson in the men’s 500 free.

I’m sure MacNeil doesn’t need NIL money but who doesn’t want more. Tim Horton’s needs to step up. Maggie MacNeil, Tim Horton’s and the majestic Canadian Goose. Name a better trio north of the border?
I’ve been surprised by how few endorsements Maggie has done in Canada since she won gold. I live in her hometown and compared to when Tessa and Scott from our same city (2010 Ice Dance gold medalists) won, it’s wayyyy less exposure even locally.
Not sure if that’s Maggie’s choice, maybe difficult to do endorsements/appearances with training further away?
Now that I’m thinking about it – I don’t think Tim’s generally does athlete endorsements.
But so many other opportunities! Why has a big eyewear brand not snatched her up?
