WOMEN’S 100 FREE
- Penny Oleksiak – 55.13
- Stanzi Moseley – 56.26
- Amanda Weir – 56.48
17-year-old Penny Oleksiak split 26.70/28.43 en route to her winning time of 55.13. She was followed by Stanzi Moseley, 20, in 56.26 (27.11/29.15). Veteran Amanda Weir, 32, split 27.12/29.36 for her third-place time of 56.48.
Samantha Porter took fourth in 56.90, and Jordan Stout was fifth in 57.22. Sherridon Dressel took sixth in 57.22.
I’d really like to see her victory in the 200m butterfly as well.
penny oleksiak time of 55.13, it is not good time, she is the Olympic champion, it is not good time, she should have a time of 23.13 in these competitions, be dominant. It’s good that penny wins the gold, but she did not get good times, she did not break any record.
She is much better than what she is showing, she should get better times.
A lot of the swimmers at a meet like this are in the middle of intensive training. The times they get don’t mean much either way.
I’m just saying that she needs to have better times.
Penny is 2 weeks into a kind of training she has never done before. (20 x 400 LCM @ 5:20 earlier in the week – yikes) The fact that she threw that race down just a couple days after an un-suited 2:09 Friday morning – to me – shows what a world-class athlete she is. I would never have guessed 55 low Friday morning. I can’t wait to see what she does the end of the summer. I don’t know if 10 weeks is really enough time, but I hope it’s enough time for her to see some sort of gains.
thanks!
The results of the training must be reflected in the competitions.
I hope penny can prove it in Canadian Swimming Trials and Pan Pacific Swimming Championships and she can get on the podium.
Climbing the podium, winning medals and making good times (breaking records) It’s what keeps a swimmer motivated and is the main objective to train.
