WATCH: Race Videos From the 2016 FINA World Cup in Doha

FINA WORLD CUP DUBAI, UNITED ARAB EMIRATES

South Africa’s Chad le Clos outscored series leader Vladimir Morozov 78-48 at the Doha World Cup, but Morozov maintains his series points lead and also wrapped up a win in the tour’s second cluster.

It was just the second meet so far in which Morozov hasn’t been the top-scoring man. In the first cluster, le Clos also outscored the field in the third and final stop, besting Morozov 69-54 in Moscow.

Morozov still won the second cluster – and the $50,000 bonus check that comes along with it – 210-95, and leads le Clos in the series by 49. But the men’s race remains close enough that things could still swing either direction over the tour’s final three stops.

The same can’t be said for the women’s race, where Katinka Hosszu maintains her death grip on the series. Hosszu scored 405 points in the second cluster alone – a total that would lead all swimmers in the entire series by almost 100.

She sits at 783 for the series in total.
