WATCH: Race Videos From Day 5 of the Chinese National Championships

2017 CHINESE NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS

Videos have surfaced of some of the fast swims at the 2017 Chinese National Championships in Qingdao, China, which started on Monday, April 10th and will run through Wednesday, April 19th. Since the start of the meet, we’ve seen a handful of records go down.

Day 5 of the 2017 Chinese National Championships saw multiple records fall in the 200 IM final. Wang Shun took down the Chinese National Record en route to gold, dominating the field in 1:56.16. Behind him, Tan Haiyang impressed with a new Junior World Record, touching in 1:57.54 to demolish the former mark of 1:59.12 set by Team USA’s Michael Andrew in Indianapolis earlier this year.

Also among the day 5 headliners were Fu Yuanhui and Sun Yang, who added to their gold medal hauls. Fu nabbed the 50 back title in a blistering 27.36, while Sun got his hand to the wall 1st in a tight 100 free battle, winning in 49.27.

Check out the action below, including the 200 IM records, courtesy of Ye Zhu’s YouTube Channel. We’ve posted all available videos of the finals in each race through day 4.
