Watch Regan Smith And Lilly King Make Statements In 100 Back/Breast Semi-Finals

2021 U.S. OLYMPIC SWIMMING TRIALS

Night 2 of the 2021 US Olympic Trials featured 4 semi-finals in the form of the women’s 100 backstroke, the women’s 100 breaststroke, the men’s 100 backstroke, and the men’s 200 freestyle.

Former world record holder in the 100 back Regan Smith led the way in the women’s 100 backstroke with a 57.92 US Open record which gave her a decent lead heading into the final. In the women’s 100 breast, world record holder Lilly King dipped under 1:05 to earn the top spot with a 1:04.72. As for the men, world record holder Ryan Murphy managed to control the field with a 52.22 for top seed heading into the final and Olympic-qualifier in the 400 freestyle Kieran Smith hit a 1:45.74 200 free.

Women’s 400 medley relay was looking STRONG last night. 57.9/104.7/55.6 — from flat starts! And two of them weren’t even finals swims. If only we had the defending Olympics/Worlds champ in the 100 free to anchor 🙂
